    Hi all,

My question is based on plants that have maximum 2/3 leaves and are sold as Mariepskop.

I have heard diffrent views on this topic.
    Are there specific identification points?

    Much appreciated.

DSC_0295.JPG DSC_0294.JPG HI Shaun, I would say the older leaves must be fairly dark green, the new leaves green and with fine white hairs that persist a little after the flush has hardened off, new flush must not be soapy green or soapy greenish - I think that would indicate kaapsehoop.

Attached two photos of mariepskop seedlings. one I am certain of. the other not so much even though they are from the same batch and from a reputable dealer [IMG]

    Thanks Paul.
I heard someone say a small seedling might even resemble the form of a revoluta.

Not sure how true that is.

Hi Shaun, you might be right on the revoluta look. I bought one years ago that was about 4cm and it had fairly short leaves and did have a revoluta look. It had about 3 leaves st the time.

When you put a plant aside because it looks a bit scraggly and you're not sure what it is, and then it pushes another leaf.

This one probably needs to be moved.
